Founder & Host

Greg Voisen

Author, creative consultant, and thought leader in the human potential movement. Nearly 20 years and 1,300+ interviews hosting the Inside Personal Growth podcast (founded 2007), reaching an audience of roughly four million.

A former career in insurance and financial planning; sold his consulting firm in 2003 to earn an M.S. in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. Has since built multiple social-impact businesses, each with a philanthropic arm.

"I am seventy-two years old, and I have spent my life in conversation. I can think of no better use of the best of what I have - my voice, my curiosity, and my stubborn faith in people - than to help us remember that the person on the other side of any divide is, like us, simply human."

Where it began · 2008

A father, a son, a way to send love.

After his son Sean was diagnosed with leukemia at twenty-one, Greg built a way for strangers to send handwritten "healing cards" to people facing serious illness - a share of every gift going to cancer charities. That first act of communication as care became the seed of everything CCF does today.

The card-writing program shown here concluded several years ago and is presented as part of the Foundation's history. These charities were past beneficiaries and are not current partners.

The organizations shown above received charitable proceeds from the original Compassionate Communications healing-card program, which operated from approximately 2008 to 2010 and has since concluded. Their names and period logos are displayed solely to document the Foundation's history. These organizations are not current partners of, are not affiliated with, and do not sponsor or endorse the Compassionate Communications Foundation. All names and logos are the property of their respective owners and appear here for historical, nominative reference only. Vision & Mission

In one line: we film people back into one another's humanity.

Vision. A society in which people who disagree can still recognize one another's humanity - where curiosity replaces contempt, and listening across difference becomes common again.

Mission. CCF produces and shares documentary conversations that bring people across our deepest divides face to face - not to debate, but to understand. Through honest, human, question-led storytelling, we remind a divided public of how much it holds in common, and make listening across difference visible, repeatable, and contagious.

Our guiding beliefs

Six convictions that shape every conversation.

01

Decency on every side

There is basic decency in nearly every person, on every side of every divide.

02

Closeness over caricature

Contempt rarely survives a real conversation.

03

Listening is the work

Being heard is a basic human need; genuine listening is a form of repair.

04

Dignity is non-negotiable

Everyone we feature, partner with, or serve is worthy of respect.

05

Communication can inspire

Every story, well told, moves people toward one another.

06

Compassion over winning

We're not here to win arguments, but to restore the human bond.

What we are · What we are not

Strictly nonpartisan. The subject is contempt, not candidates.

We are
  • · Storytellers
  • · Conveners
  • · Listeners
  • · A California 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation
We are not
  • · A debate stage
  • · A political organization
  • · A partisan voice
  • · Interested in who "wins" the conversation

The engine behind the mission

Compassionate Communications Foundation

CCF is powered by the Inside Personal Growth network Greg founded in 2007 - 1,300+ author interviews on personal growth, wellness, spirituality, and business. Every author donation flows into the Foundation's work - from the gift-card outreach on the streets of San Diego to the production of The Human Element.
